After tonight going in at her last feeding for saturday@ 11pm, Isabella had a set back on her "new" feeding increasings.
She's gone from 17 cc's to now needing to take in about 50cc's each feeding ( every 3 hours ). Well she's been showing signs that she's "Exhausted" from the extra work. and tonight she just wasn't wanting to eat. she would rather just sleep while i tried to BF her.. then I tried giving her the bottle to let her just go that route.. no luck...
So the nurse and I, decided to gavage feed her ( tube down the nose or mouth) to fill her up and let her just go back to sleep. and see what happens at the 2 am feeding.
It makes me sad now because her possible coming home sunday obviously isn't there now. and Monday is looking a tad more on hold after this. it Kinda sucks, but I know whats best for her.
Thats making sure she has built up the strength to eat 2 1/2 ounces of formula/breast milk from a bottle or breast in care of the N.I.C.U. before she comes home. so that we are not able to figure out why she's not having soiled or wet diapers, or turns for the worse. as preemies do from time to time if pushed too hard.
She'll need to build up her strength, like I said. and give or take She should be home sometime this week. there is a reason for everything. I'm thankful she's not having most difficult problems that are out there for preemies, this is just a small brick wall in the road, we'll break it down.
Anyhow I'm heading to bed, I've got to pack my bags tomorrow and visit her until my husband gets off from work to get me in the early evening.
I just wanted to update friends/family how she is. Otherwise Miss. Isabella is doing Great with all other things, I should find out MORE tomorrow when I talk to the Head Nicu pediatrician.
Thanks for reading
