*DISCLAIMER* What happen to me is not common! Please don't let it scare you if you are expecting. LOL!

Where to begin...26 months ago I went into labor after 5 weeks of strict bedrest and being on Terb and some other junk to counteract the side effects of it. Anyway, they decided it was time to come at 36.1 weeks. After being in labor for 30 hours it was time! :cheer BUT, an hour before pushing Sarah decided to go into the transverse position right above my ribs! They were still shooting for a vaginal delivery, so me being an idiot, went along with it. The broke my water (my water has never broke on it's own with all 4 pregnancies) and about a half hour I went from 8-10 centimeters. They wheeled me in to the OR, but Dennis was running late! :lol They told him he could pay some bills and get something to eat because it was going to be awhile. They were wrong. So, I am in the OR with about 25 people with me. AND, before I forget...my epidural DID NOT take!!!! My legs were dead but my woohoo or above wasn't. I pushed Elijah out after 4 pushes and the forceps. They decided to try to turn Sarah MANUALLY for an HOUR! Then I started to Hemorage really bad. I heard the nurse tell the OB, "Man, that is a lot of blood." And the OB told her to shut up. LOL! Then I started to pass out and they had to lay my bed back. I forgot to tell you that they tied my arms down too! I guess I hit a nurse and didn't know it. I was outta my stinkin mind! So they decided it would be good to do an emergency C-section...Yeah it doesn't end there. They did a feel test to see if I had feeling in my stomach. I did! That scared the crap outta me. I thought they were just going to cut on me. :lol So, she said they had to put me to sleep. While they were in there, they found out that since I was so big, my stomach muscles had torn in half and went to my sides. They fixed it! Praise God! They told me that if they didn't, I would have had to come back in within 2 weeks for more surgery. So, the C-section was a hidden blessing. If they would have done the C-section in the first place in my situation, I wouldn't have hemorraged almost to death!
So here I am outta surgery, and knocked out, so I never got to see my Sissy Grace until that night. I was so jacked up for days. They had to give me a couple blood transfusions, so I stayed sick for about a year. My blood went down to 7, it is suppose to be 14. After they gave me the transfusion, it only brought it up to 7.4. They also gave me so much potocin when I was in labor that I swelled so big, I couldn't close my hands. So they had to give me lasix, which is another story in itself. I stayed in the hospital for almost a week and was sent home to die. LOL! Not really. They also would not allow me to walk until the 5th day and I had to keep that stupid cathetar in me for 6 days! :mad
So this is my story. This honestly is why I do not want anymore children. I love'em and I am content. lol
When I had my twins, I would never post the story on TS because I was worried I would scare the expecting. :snicker

I Forgot to tell you how much they weighed!!! LOL!

At 36.1 weeks...
Elijah weighed 6 pounds and 8 oz. I have to look up how much they measured. :hehe
Sarah weighed 4 pounds 15 oz. And she is still tiny!

I probably left out a lot more details, but you got the picture. :snicker

HOLY HECK Dayna!!! What an incredible story! I can see why you were nervous to post, but you know.....it can also help. It can make expecting moms ask the right questions and not be so quick to insist on no c section, if it's suggested. Did you say your dh was not there during all of this??? OMG :shock

I'm so glad you have recovered. You have fully recovered now from the ordeal, right?

And you say, you don't want more kids now? How many do you have and how many do you think you would have had if this experience didn't change your mind?

Oh....last think I want to comment on. My epidural wasn't taking either. They kept doing the pin test and I kept telling them I feel it. I was freaking out that they were going to cut and they kept adding epidural. I think that technically for me, it was taking, but I thought that it should be completely numb and I still could feel a sensation and I could definately feel pressure, pulling and tugging. I wish someone had told me that ahead of time, and I wouldn't have been so scared when it happened.

Thanks so much for sharing that incredible story! :heart

Yes, I think I am pretty recovered now. LOL! However, I still don't want anymore kids! Five is a good number to stop at. If they were my first, I really don't think I would have had anymore. My husband would like one more, but I mentally can't just because of the L & D. Then again the other day when Elijah flung balogna at the back of his neck, he didn't want anymore kids! :lmao

Also, Dennis finally did get to the OR. He was running like a mad man. They kicked him out when they started the C-section, but invited him back in.
When he seen the tube down my throat and my head flop, he had to leave. That bothered him too bad. It was a really rough time for him too.

AND, thank you so much for that lil'gift! That was really sweet! :friends2
