I just got off the phone with the special needs preschool to see about getting Payton and Lilliana re-evaluated for more speech therapy. I managed to get them an appt on Aug 11th. Up until we moved here, they had been seeing an EI therapist. When we moved, the therapist and I decided to put their case on hold. She believed (and I agreed) that the therapy they had received gave them enough of a boost to get caught up. Well, it wasn't. They did not regress, but they also did not progress as much as I had expected them to. Plus, Payton still has some low tone issues that I'm concerned about.

Anyway, if they are approved for services, they'll go to preschool four days a week for 2.5 hours a day. This is such a bittersweet thing. On one hand, I really hope they get in so they'll receive therapy. On the other hand, I really hope they don't becaue that would mean that they are doing better than I thought.

I can understand why you are torn. But even if they need just a wee bit of help, going through EI will give them a huge boost! And preschool will be so fun for them. Let us know how the appointment goes :hug

I can understand both sides here. BUT, preschool will be so nice for them!

Like they said, either way- it's a good thing. If they're accepted, you know they're getting the help they need so they won't have problems later on. My 5 year old is "re-learning" how to talk right now because of her tonsil issues. Had I done something when she was 2 or 3, it wouldn't be so bad.

If they're doing better than you thought, that's awesome too. Either way, you're doing the best thing for them.

I don't regret Toad's classes. He had OT and speech.
