We have our coffee pot on our microwave stand, so the girls can reach it. You'd think that all the times we told them NOT to touch it, they would listen eventually?! Well, I rarely make coffee anymore, since I was getting sick of it, so I should just pack it away.....but anyways...
I worked all day yesterday. Apparently, the girls turned it on and filled the coffee pot with toys. I have no clue how DH did not notice this. Anyways, Nina touched the burner and burned 4 of her fingers! It looks like just a first degree burn, her fingertips are just wrinkly and slightly red today, but still. That must have hurt so bad. :(
So, the moral of the story, keep the coffee pot out of the reach of little hands.

awww I did that on a bowl yesterday that I just took out of the microwave and I am an adult I should know better. Poor girl I hope it heals fast. Since you don't use your coffee pot much you should but the instant coffee to keep on hand that is what dh has been doing he broke his coffee pot and has been picky about picking out a new one.

Ouchie. I hope she's feeling better quickly.
I think the hubby's don't have a gene that allows them to pay attention to details like that.

Ooooh, poor girl. I hope her fingers heal quickly.
Along with the coffee thing, it is also important to keep it out of reach because of coffee spilling. When I was 1 1/2, my family and I were camping. My dad's cup of coffee was on the ground next to a lawn chair I was sitting in. I tipped the lawn chair over, my hand went in the coffee, and it spilled up my arm. I received 3rd degree burns on my arm and had to have a skin graft. Thankfully, my hand was fine, but I have a big scar on my right arm. Hot coffee, or any hot liquids, can be very dangerous.
