My third son Quin is just barely 10, but he was chosen for majors this year. We were all excited about that until we realized he was WAY out matched :( Last year he played "farm" (aka coaches pitch) and did so awsome! This was only his second year playing so we were quite proud when we got the call that he was chosen for majors.
All that changed tonight. His coach gave me a call and asked how I would feel if we moved him back to minors. Poor Quin has ended up sitting on the bench for most of the games and hardly ever gets to bat. He is one of hte more aggressive batters, he is just "out leagued" up there and needs another year of working on his skills before he's on a cometative team.
So, we're moving him back down to minors. Tonight was his first practice with his new team and tomorrow is his first game. DH went to the practice tonight to see what kind of team Quin will be on and to check out the coaches style. I guess he was quite impressed because he came home talking about how good this team was and how he thinks that Quin is going to do very well with that coach. I'm just relieved that my boy won't have to be a bench warmer all season long.
