I do not even really know how to work what I want to say. I am just going to write it. Is it common for sensory issues to come on rapidly?
Gavin has suddenly developed multiple sensory issues. He suddenly HATES the swing in the yard. Hates anything 'yucky' (slimy, sticky, gooey) He hates ANYTHING being on his feet. He is developing certain oral motor issues with taste, textures, ect. This has all come on very rapidly. He never had any problems with any of this before. Just as they discharge him from OT and now I notice these things.

Have him re-evaulated. Does he have any allergies? Any new foods that you have had him try? Any new situations?

He was just in with the OT last week and she discharged him from care. She said he is doing wonderful. I expressed my concern with the new sensory issues and she told me that we could always re-evaluate if needed in the future. She has a very laid back persona. I wish I had the money to take him for a eval somewhere else, but here early intervention is all we have. I miss our old therapist.
There is nothing new going on. I almost wonder, as ashamed as I am to admit this, if these things have been going on to some degree for a while, and I was so wrapped up in Garrett, I did not pick up on it. I know some of the things have been, like the shoes and socks, and the swinging.

Don't beat yourself up. I am sure that these things just started and not that you didn't notice before. I would definitely have him re-evaluated just to be sure. I hope that you can find out what is causing this. Audrey has sensory issues too. I would call this lady back and talk to her again about it. If you are concerned she should be able to help you. :hugs

We have our IFSP thursday, so I am going to talk to the case managers then. I will not just sit on it. Not at all.

First of all, please don't beat yourself up for "possibly" missing some previous signs. You are a WONDERFUL mom. :hugs Sometimes we don't notice things until they are in abundance. I would make sure you mention this when you go on Thursday. I'm sure they will gladly re-eval him and go from there. Let us know how it goes. :hugs
