does he have any sores in his mouth? those were awful for the girls. it does look siimilar to hand, foot, and mouth, although it is hard to tell from a picture.

if it is hand, foot, and mouth, what helped the girls be able to nurse and eat was to give them .5 teaspoon of maalox mixed with .5 teaspoon of benadryl. that really seemed to make them feel a lot better.

i would check with your ped if you aren't sure...poor little one! they did get better after about 7 days...hope he feels beter soon! :(

:cry2 I hate this disease. We've never had it, but just missed it. (accidental run in with friend's twins who had it)

I hope its not HF&M & he gets better soon.

Well, I took him in. He didn't think it was HFM. He says there are always sores in the mouth with HFM. Josh doesn't have any more than what is on his toes. He opens one blister up and took a culture of it. We should hear back late today or tomorrow morning. He said what ever it is, it's viral and we really can't do anything for it. It doesn't hurt or itch, and he seems perfect otherwise.

Thanks for the support :luv

My girls had it twice last summer! They had the little sores on the bottoms of the feet and on their toes, on the palms of their hands and in their mouths. They also had diarrhea and fevers with it. It was not fun, but not as horrible as some people told me it would be. The blisters didn't really seem to bother them, just when they had a fever they got a little fussy. It doesn't last too long (less than a week both times) Just keep lots of children's pain reliever on hand... :hug

I don't have any experience personally, but it spread through the boys' daycare like a wildfire! Luckily we were on our vaca when it was really bad there. I hear it's really bad so I hope it's not that! Hope it goes away quickly whatever it is.

2 yrs. ago, both kids broke out in a weird rash that covered their feet to their knees, started again on their backs, and hands. Our Ped told me it was HF&M; but it turned out to be sand mites.

Hope everything is ok.

Sand mites, hmmm...
They called back and said it wasn't HFM, Chicken pox, or staph. WTH? The blisters are still there, but they are slowly fading away.

Yep, sand mites. We had been at a cookout at my DH's bosses house. The kids are playing in an old sandy playground area. They broke out late that night.
