my girls are just about a month old and we don't really have many toys. we have one of those activity/tummy time mats, and some wrist rattles and car seat toys, but that's really it. i didn't buy any cuz i figured they wouldn't need them at first. but now i feel like they should start being able to play with stuff and paying attention to stuff, and i don't really have much for them! and i have no idea what to give them, either. any suggestions on what kinds of toys they should have at this age? or are they still too young? if so, what age/what toys? thanks everyone!!!

My kids never had much at that age. They never paid attention to anything that long besides food and sleep...kind of like me at my age. HA! Anyway, I, personally, wouldn't worry about too many toys at that age. Rotate the ones you have now. Soon, no matter how many toys they have, they will fight over one! :twitch
Many babies are obsessed with faces. What I did was cut out a lot of pictures of people from old magazines and put them on a bulletin board next to the PNP. I also got my girls little mirrors to look in.

I wish I could give you some of ours...I think they have too many. My MIL keeps buying stuff. I don't think I could get away with sending you any though, cuz if she hasn't seen something for like 2 or 3 days she asks where it is. :roll
Anyway, we have plastic "keys", cloth blocks, a Baby Einstein play gym that they LOVE, these animals by LAMAZE that have rings and stuff attached to them, a Fisher Price plastic play gym/keyboard thing that they love, and a bunch of other shit. One of their favorite things is a cloth book, carter's "imagine that!". Oh, and a "beach band" set that has really great shakers and stuff that DH and I actually like to use when we play music. :teehee

Toys, did you say toys??
They're really too young for toys but they'll probably enjoy a mobile or even ceiling fan.
Just FYI, even though a toy says 3+ months, odds are they won't play with it until a few months later, or not how its intended to be used.
