DH upgraded the boys' desktop and now the old typing program we had won't work anymore. For typing, we are making them do the alphabet repeatedly in a text document.
We need to get a new typing program and just haven't gone and done it yet. We have to drive across the pass and DH is the only one to do that since we found out it won't work. He doesn't really shop at all. And, it isn't really convenient to hit the stores from his work.
They are whining that it is boring. I bet it is. I am hoping to get it by the next week at the lastest.

It is actually sort of fun to torture them with it. I mean, geesh, whoever had a fun typing class. I should stand right by them and complain about their posture and hand positions. :lmao
Okokok, you don't see them do typing or any of their schoolwork. They do all their schoolwork (including typing) draped across the floor or the furniture. It is hilarious. They would hate sitting up in the desk all day long.

Can you download a free program?

Good idea, Lizzard. Maybe there is freeware or shareware (cheap) out there.

Yeah, but they like Mavis Beacon (what we had before). And, I liked being able to go in and check their progress. It also sounds better when they had a "known" program to learn typing by.
I think there is also a certificate to print out when they type at a certain speed. I will print it out and put it in their "buckets" when they get there. We have rubbermaid buckets that have all their curriculum in them. If the feds ever come and say that I am doing educational neglect, I have the documentation that they aren't being neglected.

Poor guys. In the meantime, use it as punishment. :lol
I guarantee they'd rather do a load of dishes than have to type at this moment in time. :lol
