dilated kidneys?

I had an ultrasound today and little Kyler's kidneys are dilated. They said they will keep a check on it because it could indicate a urinary tract infection after birth. Of course, I'm worried, but not frantic. They said this was common. Did anyone else have this? Other than that, both Kyler and Avery are doing well! Still are both girls, much to my partner's chagrin!

My youngest baby had issues with that during the pregnancy. After two u/s showed the same thing, they referred me to a perinatologist. He found that although the kidneys were slightly dilated, they were within the normal paramaters :shrug He's 17 mo now and had absolutely no problems whatsoever. Hope that is the same result you end up with

Emma had them as well. She had no problems after birth.

One of Tristan's kidneys was too during the ultrasounds but they said it would most likely clear up on its own. I asked at his 2 month visit about it and they scheduled an ultrasound to check it out. We did that at about 3 months and all was well :)
