Organizing the backpack

are your kids good at keeping their backpack/trapper keeper/folders organized?
My Alex is a disaster with this. He is just so messy and everyday we have an argument about papers just shoved in the backpack and/or trapper keeper and when they are shoved like that, they look like crap. And this also adds to many lost papers etc...
We keep having "talks" about this and it goes nowhere. My other two are neat with their school stuff. Why can't he be? Give me some tips, if you have them, and save me from a stroke over this!!!

Logan is pretty neat with his. I think this is partly because of the teacher. In their binder they have different folders and the teacher makes them put "return to school" papers in one folder and "keep home" papers in another folder. It keeps it pretty organized and lets us parents know what is important for us to look at and what needs to be sent back to school etc.

my girls are pretty neat in the backpack BUT it's the stuff that doesn't get in the back pack we have the problem with. SKyler is famous for carrying stuff lose, in her hands and 'claiming' she'll put it in the backpack on the bus....but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and she wonders why she loses stuff. :roll

We do have a different folder for each subject and one for general stuff like the umteen notes to home about everything from lunches to meetings, to fundraisers....

They also both have a zip up pencil case that is filled with markers crayons and the enemy of all living breathing parents.....>LEAD PENCILS!!! OMG I hate them!!! we have little tiny lead pieces all over the bottom of each back pack and the house! :grrr
