Jude and I got married on February 21, 2004. The honeymoon was great, fantastic, amazing. Little did we know that nature was taking it's own course regardless of the contrception we all think is 100% foolproof. We were the fools, the kids are our proof!

Jude's birthday is April 16 and a week before I realized I was late, no big deal, happened before. Just for fun, I take a home test on his birthday. :birthday Daddy to Be... Here's your present. :hug

He took it like a man and nearly hugged me to death.

So a couple of weeks later, we go for our first u/s and Jude is not allowed inside. Anyway, after drinking gallons of water, they were still not satisfied and I had to drink more gallons. Then the u/s specialist starts peering at the screen, frowns and leaves the room. Not a comfortable moment for me. She returns with a doctor, who also starts staring at the screen, frowns, glances at me and then frowns again. I am HYPER by now. Then he smiles and says, well, looks like there's more than one baby. I said: "Twins?", he said: No, Triplets actually.

OMG... I nearly fainted, twins run in the family, NOT triplets. One second later I was beaming. I managed to keep it bottled up inside and told Jude on the way home. BAD idea. He slammed on the breaks and nearly hit the car ahead of us. Another death hug for me. :hug

Unfortunately, a few weeks later, we got the bad news that one baby didn't make it. So twins it was. And we've never felt more blessed.

The pregnancy was THE most uncomfortable time of my life. I suffered from morning sickness EVERY single day for eight months, and ALWAYS after midnight. By 28 weeks, my legs were swollen up so bad, I could barely walk. I couldnt sit because I kept feeling like I was being headbutted in my ribs (which I was). And eventually because my blood pressure kept sky rocketing, I was put on complete bed rest from 29 weeks. Lying down was impossible, because regardless of the position and cushioning, I just couldn't breathe.

We discovered the gender of one baby (Baby A was a boy) but Baby B just wouldn't show itself.

My C-section was initially scheduled for 38 weeks, but at 35, I had to go in, both babies were breech, and the doctor wasn't taking any risks, so I had no choice.

It took me exactly one second to forget all that discomfort when I laid eyes on my beautiful babies for the first time.

Mine were honeymoon twins also!!

:party Gotta love Tequila in mexico!! We didn't want to know what we were having, so some of our friends referred to the babies as Jose and Patron... our two favorite brands! I think that's a story we'll wait to tell them:teehee

I'm so sorry you had such an uncomfortable pregnancy, but you are right... it all goes away when you see them!
