Do you volunteer at your childrens' school or/and in the PTA/PTO? I never was before but my oldest is at a new private school this year and the President of the PTA is one of my very dear friends. So, naturally she signs me up for anything and everything :lol She has done alot for my family, personally wise so I am happy to oblige her.
Their book fair starts this coming week. So bright and early this am I showed up to set up. Let me tell you, it was hard work. :lol I was sweating! :lol I also volunteered to work the fair 3 x this coming week (good thing I don't have a job outside the home yet, right?) I am also homeroom mother, (again thanks to my good friend :lol ) I will be busy with his school, for sure. they have a ton of fund raisers due to being a private school.

Well, A & A still go to public school. Their book fair is also this week. When they heard I was volunteering at older bro's fair, they wanted me at theirs, too. (sibling rivalry at its best) :roll So, I have a call in to volunteer at theirs, this coming week, also. :roll Hopefully I will have time to pee this coming week. :rofl

I think that is great that you are doing that.

I used to volunteer at the school when Sarah was younger. I hope to start again once the twins are in kindergarten. I do volunteer when they do the lice checks at school, but that is only 2-3 times a school year.

Once the girls start I would like to do something a little more regular.

Last year I sat with Logans class for an hour every Friday morning while his teacher had a grade level meeting. i was also room mom..and went on field trips and such. This year i haven't really done much because I've been working alot more and we've been extremely busy at work. i do plan on trying to make a few fieldtrips atleast

I volunteer for field trips, school parties/events, and I take a week off of work throughout the year to be a class volunteer. The kids love for me to be there and I don't mind helping.

TEF, that's cool that you're volunteering so much! I want to be able to do it when the boys are in school, but where do people find the time to do it?

No. I don't volunteer, mainly because when I am at Mikey's school, I feel very "left out" by the other parents.

THey just don't talk to me. I must be a very "unapproachable" person :lol

I was called by the PTA last year and asked if I would volunteer for thier end of the year picnic. I said I would, they said they would call and tell me what time to be there and what I would be doing. I made sure I didnt' schedule any clients that day, and they never even called. :shrug
