How old for sports

What age do most sports allow your kids to start.

Mine are obviously too young now, but I can't wait to get them started.

Jarret and Lydia started tumbling at 3.5. They are playing soccer now and the minimum age is 4. At 5 they will be able to play baseball/softball. After that it is 5th grade before they can do basketball, football, cheerleading and dance.
Our tumbling center has Mommy and Me classes that start at age 1. The mom goes through the class with them and it is basically just for fun.

I thought about putting my 4-year-old in soccer but we're gonna wait another year - he is shy :)

Dona, I can't wait to start them in sports either. It is going to be hard since ours will more than likely be in two different sport teams (even if it's the same sport since they are b/g- except for soccer). We are going to be running around with some 5yr olds :pullhair But I can't wait!! :bananadance

Same with me! Having b/g twins will make things a little more difficut to juggle.

Maybe Kaelin can be the cheerleader for Logan's peewee football team!

I'm also hoping they are both into horses. I can start them in lead line classes really early. That'll be something they can both do together.

they were 3 yrs old when they started swim classes. Than at 4 yrs old, started soccer.

Hi -
I'm new here and this is my 2nd post.

Anyway, I started my kids in camp type sports when they were 3 almost 4. They played around, no game, just all the kids learning. This past spring I started them in tbal - which they loved and now they are in soccer through our township.

I think as long as you keep saying it for FUN, then 3-4 is a good age IMO!

We're started gymnastics (tumbling) soon and then next year dance class. Mine are 2.3 yrs old. :hehe
