In purchasing Pashmina shawls (Kashmir not Nepal) and stoles? Not at the same prices they are available for in the US. Much cheaper of course. Including shipping.
Let me know.

I have no clue.... I don't shop for things like that. That would require going to a mall and I won't be doing that for a while.

Anne, I don't have any stores near me that are actually nie enough to carry things like that. So I looked on line and seee they range from $50 to $200 I think.

I just remembered that I bought one for my sister for xmas when we were in New York. I think I paid $5. :teehee
I don't think that quite counts though.

I don't think the ones from the street vendors in NY or on Canal Street were Kashmir. And they surely weren't authentic originals from Pakistan.
I'd be interested to see them and prices. I think they'd be great gifts too!

OK, I'll be out shopping this Saturday and take pictures of the stuff I can buy. I'll also check the quality and percentage of pashmina in the shawls and quote accordingly.

I refuse to confess I didn't know what Pashmina was until that episode :no
Anne what about baby blankets? Do they make them also? What else does Pakistan have to offer us folks over here, other than you of course ;)

FD, those are sort of what I'm talking about, we have a lot of solid colors and also embroidered ones which are really pretty. I have to check what percentage of silk is mixed with it though. Most pashminas have a certain percentage. Like 70% pashmina and 30% silk.
I'll have to check for baby blankets Lisa.
What else? Really cheap clothing for kids (mainly cottons), footwear (flip flops, sandles etc), ethnic jewlery.
I've been wondering if anyone would be interested in clothing, it's really low priced compared to what you all buy (seriously I am shocked sometimes at what you all pay for simple t-shirts and jeans for kids), and the quality is good too.
Let me know if you want anything.. via PM or here.
Hmmm maybe I should buy a shop on GZ...........

If you are just PM me what type of stuff and I'll go about getting pictures and prices of it for you to have a look and compare.
But please wait for pics of most things till next week. Eid (Muslim's Holy Feast) is being celebrated this week and the markets are crazy with shoppers. When it all settles, I'll get the pics.

Ooooo...jewelry..... oooooo....earrings.......... They would have earrings, wouldn't they?
Do they have any really funky stuff? I have snakes, springs, suns, pirhanas, skeletons (oooo, it is near halloween!! I can wear them!), and lots of other weird/funky earrings. Hey...would you be able to tell if the metal .925 sterling silver?
