any tips to know before the twins go for there 1st dentist appointment?

Good luck. Motrin before hand may be a good idea, too. Chances are, that whatever the dentist does to them, won't be too uncomfortable, but ya never know :)

I didn't make a big deal about it. Mine were 3 and I just told them we were going to the dentist so he could look at their teeth. I was all prepared for some major drama but they actually did fine. I did read them the Little Critter Goes to the Dentist before we went. That was it! Good luck!

Prepare them by explaing what will be happening. That someone will be looking in their mouths. If you have a dentist appt first, then let them watch you do it so they know it wont hurt.

We played "dentist" got the rubber glooves for them to wear, and had them open mouth and told then that the dentist will count teeth and look at them with a little mirror.

They just went two months ago, at 3 yrs old, did great, even let them take x-rays clean them and put that floride stuff on them...


They will be fine and will amaze you how well they will do..

Ashlyn is going to the Dentist for the 1st time, this Wed. I'm going to have to miss it. My mom has a DR appt. & I need to drive her. So, my DH is taking Ash alone. I hope it goes well. I never miss anything like this.

Zane is going the following week. Our dentist wants to see the kids seperately.

I just keep telling the kids that they're going to the dentist. He wants to look at their pretty teeth, and see their smiles. They're looking forward to seeing him...so far anyway.
