Okay, so I left off at my preg. story saying that I had to have an emer. C section. Basically, from TTTS, Peyton wasn't receiving any nutrients and they were worried he wasn't going to make it.
We were told that we would have the surgery at around 7pm. It was around 2pm when we were told this!
Since it wasn't a normal wait for birthing, it was more nerves and wondering if my little man would make it, and if my big man would too since he was taking in too much. All my friends were calling my room in L&D (I was there on hosp. bedrest for almost 8 weeks) and Brian kept telling them I couldn't talk, that I was giving birth that night! Gee, they must've all freaked!
Around 6pm, the nurse came in and put an oxygen mask on me since I started to hyperventalite(sp?) and couldn't take the waiting.
We told our parents not to come, since they wouldn't be able to see me, or the boys. Brian's mom and younger brother did come and waited in the waiting room, which was nice. MY parents came the next day.
Okay, skipping all over...can you tell I am a Gemini?!
Around 7pm, more sonos were taken, and the drs all kept rushing in and out muttering about saving lives, and this poor girl...so Brian and I just sat there and cried.
Around 8pm or so, I had a spinal. It was great. I have Lymes disease, so I had a spinal tap done before and sort of knew the pain to expect...
But then, all went numb.
When I was put on the table, and hooked to monitors...I was freezing. They kept a warm vacuum blowing into my arms. I must've looked so odd! Brian sat by my left side, and the Anethesiologist by my right. The drs started their thing. Everytime I felt pain, I would look at the Anes. and he would pump more drugs into me. Brian just kept asking me how I was doing. He peeked over once at the surgery.
Such odd sensations. Pulling, tugging...
At 8:48pm, Jake Raymond entered the world at 3lbs, 3oz and 15 inches. He cried like a little cat! I saw him so quick, but don't really remember.
At 8:50pm, Peyton Joseph came into the world at 2lbs, 7 oz and 14 1/2 inches. They quickly showed me him too...bright red and screaming like another cat!
I cried my eyes out, Brian was in tears.
Before the dr stiched me up, he asked a nurse to get some milk. I was like WTF! Turns out, he took out my placenta, and poured milk into it. By doing so, the nurses (and Brian) were able to see how TTTS works and how the milk goes through...odd!
After I was done, I was put into a recovery room. I wanted to see my boys sooo bad. It was horrible. I knew they were tiny, in a lot of danger and in the NICU. Brian went to see them, after I begged him too and took some pics. I saw them almost 9 hours later. The emotions of finally seeing my boys to seeing them hooked up to everything was a lot but they were here and safe and our lives were complete.
On to my NICU story another night!

Oh Brook!!! your story gave me the chills.... and both our children were the EXACT same weights!!! Odd they were meant to be:hehe

What a amazing story, and to see where they are now blows me away. Having the whole birth not go as planned can be such a strange experience, people don't know if they should congratulate or not. well.... congratulations!!! And thank you for sharing your story.
