John and I decided to try for another baby when Zack was 7 months old. That way they would be close in age. Well first try was the charm, and within 4 weeks, I was sick as a dog, before I missed my first period. I went about my business the first 3 months, and thought I was pretty big for how far along I was, but chalked it up to just having a baby less then a year earlier. My best friend and I joked that wouldn't it be funny if it was twins.

I had my first ob appointment at 12 weeks. I went in and the nurse mesasured me and all that good stuff, and told me I was measuring bigger then I should be. All I could say was "Anne don't tell me it is twins". My OB normally does an ultrasound your first appointment to check your due date, so off I go to the office ultrasound room, where my Ob told me that he just diagnosed 3 sets of twins that week. They put the wand on my tummy and both the nurse and Dr both said "oh". I looked over and you could see both babies fluttering away. It was quite a shock as I have no twins on my side of the family. It took a good week to get over the initial shock, actually maybe my whole pregnancy.

I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy. I failed my 1 hour glucose test, but passed my 3 hour test. I started having uterine irritability at 27 weeks, and landed in labor and delivery. I was then taken off of work. I had another 3 visits to labor and delivery before my last visit. I had to lay on my left side for 2 hours every morning and afternoon. Otherwise no bedrest.

The week I delivered I woke up Tuesday night and had really bad contractions. I refused to go to the hospital because I figured it was nothing and it would go away. Finally 6 hours later it did. Wednesday was a great day. No pain I felt awesome. Thursday night I woke up with the bad contractions again, and couldn't put up with it, so I called my mother in law to come get me. Off we go to the hospital she dropped me off and took Zack home with her. The babies were born that night at 34 weeks and 4 days. I wish looking back now, that I had gone in that Tuesday night and maybe they could have held off my labor, but I sure was glad when it was all over.

Thats a sweet story !! I'm glad you had such a great pregnancy .. you were one of the lucky ones !! If my twin pregnancy had gone so smooth I dont think i would be so shellshocked and terrified of having more children !!
