They are sending Garrett to a couple of Their Drs. The first is for a mental eval. How do they do that on a 18 month old? What will they do? THen they are sending him for a physical. The Dr. is out very first Ped from when Taylor was a baby. Is it a good thing that they are sending him on to their Drs?

I talked to one of our therapist today and she said the fact they are in speech therapy is a good thing for us, she said that should move him right along and with the speech, physical, and occupational therapy, as well as his epilepsy we should have no problem getting him approved. I am jsut a nervouse wreck about going to their Dr. We go to one of them a week from thursday and the other on the 20th.

It's a good thing for him to get all the evaluations he can, KWIM? The more information, the better.

My sis with CP and Epilepsy is on SSi. It's a good thing that they want you to go to one of their Drs. It's basically for verification purposes. I agree with the therapist. The fact that he is in therapies and his other health issues makes him a shoe in (IMO) The process is a real PITA but worth it.

Good luck. :hug

I think it would be good. For that, the more docs you have saying that he has issues the less likely they will be able to deny it.

As of right now, my girls receive SSI. They have been since they were born. I am so glad too because it has been crazy with the bills rolling in. We are well over 1 MILLION in medical bills on the girls A PIECE!! Luckily because they qualified for SSI, they also qualified for WIC and Medicaid. We do have private insurance but the medicaid pays secondary and that has helped so much.

Good luck, I hope that he is able to receive it.
