Evenings...during school hours.....or over a long period of time or all on one day?

I'm asking because this has annoyed me since my girls have been in school.

Our school only does conferences by request of the teacher. Which means ONLY if there is a problem.

So I get 'gyped' (sorry, it's my new favorite word :blush) out of hearing how wonderful my girls are and how they light up the room and are so stinking bright and etc etc etc......

I once tried to request a conference anyway, and they talked me out of it saying how wonderful everything was going and that if I had any concerns to ask them on the phone, since it was all good on their end. :cry

I want to hear the good stuff!!!!! It's a major rip off and their reasoning is that there are too many kids to get conferences in for everyone....so they just do the ones that need a conference. SUCKS!!!!

We have one every year despite if the children are doing well or need to improve. I think it is important that the teacher communicates with us regardless. That sucks that your school doesn't do that.

Our interviews weren't suppose to start until next week but the teacher said given my circumstances she would have ours early. I had it this morning at 10:40am. She has them afternoon as well as evening...you pick the one that suits you. Time slots are first come first serve though.

Um, well, everytime I talk to myself, I call it a parent/teacher conference. One of the benefits of homeschooling....

We have one every school year after the 1st marking period (1st report card has been issued). This one is regardless of the grade/behavior. You can request one after the report cards/marking periods or the teacher can even if it's in between for anything else.

Mine for AJ (6th grade) was on Thurs. the 16th of Nov. in the evening around 7:30pm. I meet with 6 teachers like 10 minutes each.

We have them twice a year, they are by parent request not teacher. We had our first one already and the next one will be in March.

Sorry you get gyped out of the experience. I don't think its right, that it is by teacher request only. That is a tad ridiculous. I think, if you want to meet with the teacher you should be able to.

We have them regardless of whether the child is doing well or not. The parent has to go to pick up the first report card. The kids are out of school that day and you coordinate with the teacher what time you would like to go. I think they start doing them at 10 am and they go until like 7 pm...something like that. Logan is never bad and always does good in school but I also like to go just to get to know the teacher a little better and see what all has been going on in class and hear all the good things also.
