It really does... :yes
Not 110% easier, but Much easier than those first four months of ups and downs. we still have moments of extreme fussieness or lack of sleep or whatever. but Its deffinatly better than having a SICK baby. Kwim?
keep up the work girlfriend. I envy you. Why? Because your doing TWICE the work ( nursing ) and that is the best thing in this freaking world.
(bow down) to you my boobie mama :D

you are so right! it does get easier..and you know what? so many times people blame bf for those bad times for various reasons, but the fact is that if you read parenting boards kids always have those time whether they bf or not. if you read forums you find parents desperate for sleep and peace from crying, and most of them aren't bf. i guess babies jsut fuss and parents jsut dont' get enough sleep no matter what, right?:hugs
the difference is if you are bf you have a way to comfort them when they are fussy. that plus so much less sickness equals a lot easier time than rocking and walking with a fussy baby and no way to really soothe her, right? you have two wonderful things to help get past the fussies....lol:)
it will get easier for both of you, really, and that is sweet of you to give smidget encouragement! you both rock!:hugs

Well I wouldn't say SLEEP per say is or will get better. for some it will and other's it wont. she still wakes every 3-4 hours and Im OK with it so far. She nurses and I go back to sleep. we did go through about 2 days of waking every 2 hours just a day or so ago, Gosh that was draining. But I managed!
I really couldn't see feeding her a bottle wholey.. because I love the closeness I have with her. I love that she Goes towards my chest. and when we do use a bottle here and there once in a blue moon its to get her to go to sleep and she hardly drinks it. most of the time she refuses it! :para
In any case. Tina... you've gone this far.. whats 3 more months? I say thats freakinfantastic to nurse twins that long even.
YOU are a awesome mother. I get my inspiration from you too hun! Love you!

I'm so in love with both of you for nursing your babies like this! I can't even express it adequately!:pinkheart The 2 of you are amazing! It DOES get better! I PROMISE! MB and I nursed our girls and we are still alive and kicking. It can be done! Nursing as opposed to bottle feeding is not the sole cause of babies not sleeping. BABIES DON'T SLEEP!! They just don't. No matter how they are fed. It's just one thing you give up as a parent...sleep. Rest assured it doesn't last forever though. Hang in ther ladies!:hugs

i'm not stopping at 6 months. or even a year. i'm gonna let them self-wean. unless they're like going to preschool or something. then i will probably stop them...but two/three years, that's fine with me

smidget, that is awesome! you will be amazed how much less traumatic the toddler time is for babies and parents too if you are still bf. they don't get sick often and it is usually mild, and when they need comfort from teething, bumps and bruises, or scary things in that big world, they can feel safe and venture out again. you get protection from illness too, so you can't beat that.
also, when they get their picky eating times or are sick, you don't have to worry about them not getting good nutrition, and that is awesome too. they will benefit their whole lives from what you are doing for them. oh, and smidge, lots of people nurse before preschool and at night when they start going to preschool, so the cool thing is that it isn't all or nothing...they will gradually taper to what works for all of you:)
both of you are so awesome, and i am so happy for you and your babies!:clap :friends2
