induction scheduled in 1 week

I have not been posting too much lately -because I am trying to lie down as much as possible... wish I had a laptop! :lol

Anyways, I am currently 36 weeks + 2 days pregnant with twins. I am receiving shared care between an OB and 2 midwives. I saw my OB on Tuesday and she checked my cervix (OUCH). Apparently I am already 3cm dilated. She suggested that if I do not go into labour on my own, that I should be induced next Friday (the 15th). I wasn't sure how I felt about this as she did not explain her reasoning for this (and I was too stunned to ask the questions I should have). Then, today I saw my midwife and she gave me possible reasons for induction (e.g. risk of prolapsed cord in baby B) so I gave the go-ahead for her to book it at the hospital next Friday. So I guess if do not have them sooner, the twins' birthday will be the 15th, when I am 37 weeks +2 days. I still hope I will go into labour on my own before then but it's also nice to know that there is AN END IN SIGHT if I don't.

I think you should call your doctor and have her explain. Even though the midwife gave you possible reasons she suggested it, I'd confirm the reasons with her. Best of luck. 36 weeks is great.!!!!

Mine were 37 weekers. They had a bit of trouble figuring out how to nurse, but that was our only issue. No NICU time or anything.

OMG you are doing so great! :woot for keeping em in so long!!! i know exactly how you feel...terrified and excited...i was there not too long ago. but trust me, once you lay eyes on those beautiful faces, you won't be scared anymore. you'll know just what to do. it'll seem like the most natural thing in the world.

i don't know how canada does it, but do you have free long distance to the US and Canada? many companies here do, so i was thinking if goo or lil don't PM you, someone else can. i'd be glad to be your contact. just gimme the word :D
